Perhaps thought leaders in management education need to develop short and long term programmes in political marketing and constituency management which would enable politicians to segment their market and create value for them using constructive variables

This is a pretty good idea. As a matter of fact, most political leaders do have campaign managers. If we have a proper Theoritical Framewrok on this feild and can market this to those who are politically inclined then it will be a very good idea as placements for them will be guranteed and can provide for a good career thrust for the youth with political ambitions or those who want to change the system. There is a big segment in the market today who is young, urbane and are unemployed or wish to do something meaningful with their lives but do not know how to do it. For example, in the movie Rang De Basanti, there was a discussion amongst the characters who would want to change the country…..and there is a very big segment with such characteristcs….there is a demand and if we supply it than i think we will be good…..the only catch i see in this service is that it needs to be provided at an affordable price and the government decides to take such people with management qualities even in the municipalties, corporations and other pblic service enterprises……the success of such a course will be gr8 if the price is low…..the govt of gojarat is looking for suh people but their salaries will be less than 10000…..and the prestige assosiated with a govt job is known to all…..so i would just request all the cantent developers to go ahead and leave the rest to marketeers and consumers like us…..:-)
good.. we can think of it .infact at IIM Shillong, we have introduced sustainable developemt , sustainable management, sustainable enterprise..through ACCELERATED LEARNING CENTRE .This can be further extended political enterprises too.
