Since a brand is an embodiment of meanings projected by the self, we perhaps consume to give meaning to our life.

Brand building is a process of earning commitment of the consumer to the brand. And this would require (since brand is a emotionally loaded knowledge structure), getting highly personal and positive meanings (even forbidden ones…..like “lambada”) projected onto the product; thus becoming the “other self” of the consumer. A brand then is an embodiment of projected meanings of a consumer and thus reflection of his self image. A brand then has to be like a mirror, a mirror which can show the consumer his “wanted reality”.

Instead of signing up celebrities who may not behave the way a brand they are endorsing may need, why not create animated characters and produce films based on them to popularize them………..Does it not seem to be a cost effective solution to the problem of managing the celebrities?

Isn’t is surprising to note that many a sales persons has not earned incentives for failing to meet targets but still the top management has met its targets…………….Is it the case of too high a targets for the “lowly” sales person and too low a target for the “exalted” top management………Also ironically the managing director PAYS HIMSELF SALES COMMISSION……despite the fact that his job is to increase shareholder value and hence should claim compensation based on it…………..

How about having a mirror as a party election symbol/political logo………….every one would love to stamp him/her self

It is remarkable to note that most institutions in higher education sector are predominantly playing the role of a certification agency rather than focusing on knowledge creation and dissemination, and hence we have non uniform competencies certified as worthy of the same certificate (degree/diploma). If this certification is carried out by a National Certification Agency or even some private “Market” certification agency, the certificates would be comparable on some predetermined parameters and the institutions would be focused on creation and dissemination of knowledge and PERHAPS most importantly EDUCATION WOULD BE DEMOCRATIZED AND WOULD BE MORE ACCESSIBLE……………..there was some talk of delinking jobs from degrees; how about DELINKING EDUCATION FROM FORMAL INSTITUTIONS

It is surprising and perhaps revealing that NO POLITICAL PARTY in INDIA has thought it fit to broach/launch the subject of SOCIAL SECURITY. With caps on PPF and paltry returns IT SEEMS THAT THE GOVERNMENT wants that the common man has no option but to invest in stocks and take the attendant risks to himself and benefits to businesses. Whereas the businesses are advised to follow Corporate Social Responsibility, what if the Government were to think of GOVERNMENT SOCIAL RESPONSIBILITY along with Government Business Responsibility. Perhaps one needs to remember that we have Government FOR THE PEOPLE………..

Ironically because the workers in the industry have been work effectively and efficiently!!!!!!
Catch 22…………Had thy not been working effectively and efficiently they would have lost their jobs………..but since they all work effectively and efficiently supply greater than demand situation arises and they have to be laid off in the interest of THE going concern. Ironically the “TOP” which is responsible to foresee and formulate strategy gets to stay and enjoy their “entitlements”!!!!!!!!!!!
A classic case of the right of artificial over the natural ones……..because of the governing philosophy that capital needs to be protected and grown but not human dignity………..What an irony????????

Should the laws applicable to commercial advertisements be also applicable to political marketing communications?

Perhaps thought leaders in management education need to develop short and long term programmes in political marketing and constituency management which would enable politicians to segment their market and create value for them using constructive variables
